Coach's Corner

Coach's Corner

Dear Douglas Football Family and Friends,

Dear Eagles Football Family,

Can you smell it? It's that time of the year again! The 2017 Football Season is underway! The MSD football program would like to invite everyone to come out and support our young men in their goal of an amazing season. We have worked a unbelievable amount of hours in the off season toward making this a season to always remember. Our staff, players, boosters, and all those who are a part of our program are more than ready to get the 2017 Football Season under way. We hope we can make our community proud with our effort, determination, and drive toward being successful every day on the field and off the field. We are very proud of our team GPA of 3.37 and of the numerous community service hours we have gathered in the last year. We have worked with Special Olympics, various groups in the community, and great organizations. We have some players who you have cheered for 3 years, and some new faces that you will love to watch. We have 108 players in our program in 2017, and their attitudes, work ethic, and especially leadership has been unmatched. We would like to say Thank you to our administration, teachers, and student body of MSD for all their support and commitment toward our program's success. There is nothing more exciting then running out of that tunnel on a Friday Night with a packed house of those people who are cheering for us to win! Thank you to the parents as well for all their support for all the long hours, and trusting our Staff to work with your sons and daughters. Together we will work toward Our goal of having a tremendous season and a year we can all look back on with the fondest of memories! We will see you all in Cumber Stadium on FridayNight! Go Eagles! I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.

Frequently Asked Questons

Q.  Practice is scheduled during the time my son is suppose to pick up his schedule and his books.  What should he do?

A.  They can leave practice during their scheduled time to pick up their schedule and books.

Q.  The calendar doesn't show what time practice ends?

A.  Practice end times may vary.  We suggest that you wait for your son to call you when practice is over.  Mondays and Wednesday's practice typically run longer as the players lift prior to going out on the field.

Q.  If my child is struggling in class, can they attend tutoring at the school?

A.  Yes, please have your child speak to Coach May to let him know they will be attending a tutoring session.  After tutoring they can come to practice.

Q.  My child is an honors student and the practices run too late for him to get his work done.

A.  Many of our Student Athletes are honors and AP students.  They put in hard work on the field and off the field.  Each year we have some of the top academic students on our team.  It takes hard work and dedication to be a Student Athlete.

Q.  My son is on JV does he have to attend the Varsity game?

A.  Yes your son is expected to attend both home and away Varsity games with the team.  Buses will be provided.
